New York Penn Amtrak Station

New York Penn Station’s new Moynihan Train Hall is where Amtrak passengers get on and off trains (view street map). With entrances on 8th Avenue, W. 31st Street and W. 33rd Street, the train hall is in the historic James A. Farley Post Office building, which was designed by the same architects who created the 1910 New York Penn Station (torn down in 1963). Learn more about amenities in and outside the station below.

Things to Know

• Arrive 45 minutes early.
• Taxi drop off/pickup area is on W. 31st Street and rideshare drop off/pickup on W. 33rd Street.
• The train hall is closed between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Use the main Penn Station for Amtrak assistance during these hours.
• MTA subway lines A, C, E and 1, 2 3 stop at Penn Station as well as New Jersey Transit and Long Island Railroad trains
• You can walk between the new train hall and Penn Station via 8th Avenue or indoors via the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) concourse level.
• The station is next to Madison Square Garden and near Hudson Yards, Times Square and the Empire State Building.
